My take is that no one is going to try to destroy Russia, just put them back in the box they belong in. No nukes will be used. If Russia starts a nuclear war Russia will cease to exist as a nation for the foreseeable future and their leaders know that. The Russian leaders have seen the superiority of the west's weaponry and training. Why would they think the same would not be the case for nuclear weapons? The bully using Hitler's expansionist tactics must be stopped. Putin is loosing face and if that continues it will cost him his life. The "out" for Russia if Ukraine can keep up the pressure is to remove Putin, withdraw, and take credit for stopping the war. The leaders of the free world will accept that resolution because to do otherwise is to attempt to destroy Russia, leaving Russia only one choice, something no one on either side wants. The Chinese might, but they are not involved in the decision. Where did you read about the superiority of your weapons over ours ???? you are not mistaken?

I just read a story about a dog fight over Korea that has been declassified from 70 years ago. Back them the mig 15 was the best fighter made in speed and agility. But am American shot 4 of them down in 30 minutes and the rest ran. It's unlikely your tech even come close to ours but even when it was better 70 years ago America kicked your tail 4 to 1.

I want to say one thing about Koisoi. The man is a Russian patriot and 100% supporter of his country and its leadership. Not afraid to confront where he sees that we Americans just don't get it. We all benefit from hearing his side of the story.
Irregardless of what I feel about the conflict, I just wanted to say my bet is most of us would get along just fine with Alexei if we were running trapline together.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I have always been curious about Russia. Have been close to individuals that have been there. In the 80’s I was installing a water softener system in a military hospital. A technician from the supplier was brought in to do some trouble shooting on the system.
The tech had been to Russia to set up a softener system for the Olympics American Village in the 80’s for several months. We talked quite a bit about his experience in Russia. He recommended MiG Pilot and said it was a good sample of what life is like there!

Kosoi...The incident happened during the Korean war, the US kept it classified until it was discussed in a Russian book but I can't remember the name of it. I agree with beaverpeeler, we all would get along, in a line from the outlaw Jose Wales...It's a shame the governments are Chiefed by the double tongues....after to many years in the military I have found all my interactions with foreign soldiers to be the same. We are just Grunts trying to survive....lol

There is a hanger on Eielson AFB that has Russian titles under room door English titles. I wonder if it’s the same there?

FYI Russia is not the Soviet Union. Russia does not have a communist economy. Russia has an Oligarchy.

I've read in some posts up above the mention of US versus Russian weapon superiority. However, there are more things to factor in than hardware. I think Slavic folks, both Russian and Ukrainian, are much more able to live with hardship, long term, than are people from the West. We want wars over by dinner time. When you only consider weaponry you are not factoring in psychology. I think those folks will beat us hands-down in that regard. Especially considering the woke direction our entire culture is gravitating to.

On the other hand it is obvious that the russians underestimated the grit of the Ukrainean people fighting for their homeland. Freedom fighters fighting for their countries against agressors can be measured in hundreds of years-(Ireland for example). We never let up since Cromwell invaded from england in the 1600,and fought until we gained freedom in 1926.
Patriots never give up when it comes to fighting for their country.
In the words of Liam Clancy
"The love of ones country is a terrible thing, It banishes fear with the speed of a flame- thats why we are all part of the Patriot game"
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

How much fighting for their homeland did the Ukrainians do when they were part of the Soviet Union?
