I’ve heard in the past, probably on here, that frequent exposure to cold can cause poor circulation. If you’ve found this to be true, what’s your experience been with this. Is it temporary, permanent, should it be cause for concern?
I’ve been running a small beaver line for a few weeks now. This type of trapping is pretty new to me. I’m usually dry land trapping or setting one and a half’s in a creek. Now I’m sticking my arms into ice cold water at most every stop.

I’ve noticed when I wake up lately that my hand is almost always asleep. Sometimes just holding a coffee cup very long will cause it to go to sleep.

I have a regular check up scheduled with my doctor next week so I’ll certainly ask him about it but, if it is caused from exposure to cold then I figured plenty of you on here would have experience with it. Thanks

Sounds like carpal tunnel symptoms. On your dominant hand?Yes, or some other cause putting pressure on a nerve. If your fingertips turn white or blue it is circulation but what you described sounds more like nerve involvement.

It does seem to be my dominant hand, can’t recall it happening with my weak hand, but I also am mostly sticking my strong hand/arm in the water when I can get away with using one.
I do have a pair of gauntlets but just can’t get comfortable using them. The lack of dexterity makes me nervous and usually frustrated, not to mention i eventually fill them up with water. I may have to force myself to use them.

Hopefully find something out next week. Pretty sure I have gout in one of my big toes too. Hope this isn’t a trend.

Just put your gauntlets on when you're placing the trap. One of tge reasons i like CDRs and TS 85s is that i can set these with gaunts on.
