I know, MJM... neither are Chinooks always grey . I do know the difference between the two , many of the Blackhawks I see here are black or a very dark olive grey/green.

I also know them by silhouette in twilight , and by sound alone.

I can't believe all of you want to shoot the thing down. What good could possibly come from shooting it down? What's it made out of and what's in it???? Nobody knows. Weather balloon? It's not like any weather balloon I've ever seen. Don't weather balloons fly much higher than this? What purpose would China have of sending a weather balloon over the US and then saying they don't know why it's there, when they are obviously steering it.

It came from China and they intentionally brought it over the US, just look at the map of where it has travelled. Only an idiot would shoot this thing down at this point.
