Decided to set 4-5 traps for yotes and a bobcat I had visiting my cam. I hadn't set a coil spring for 5-6 years but still had everything I needed. So gathered it up put "everything" I needed In my truck. Get out to the farm and dug dirt hole. Trap bed drive anchor. Make set , look in my bait/ lure compartment. OOPS ! Left it in the fridge in the building. So grabbed a bale of hay out of the barn that was busted and made couple hay bale set and shot the urine to them . Add bait and lure in the morning...

I have to make a list to go to the bathroom anymore.

Note pad on desk. Write everything down I going to do and pencil off as I do. Of course take page with me.

Oh yes, I forget a lot. But knowing this I do make myself notes every year so this don't happen.

Always turn on my emergency light when I back up.

Had this discussion with my mom tonight. She went to her cancer Dr for her 6 month app. All Her numbers looked good except some on her liver were on the high normal range. He told her she can fix that with her diet. She looked at him and said she likes her chocolate and pasta among other fatty foods.

I laughed with her and asked why she didn't just tell him ,"I'm over 60 hav breast cancer that has moved into my lip nodes, had breast removed, chemo, radiation , and had been given a 22% chance to live 5 years 3 yeaes ago. I enjoy eating what I like and am not going to live forever and I really don't want to live so long I'm loosing my mind or unable to care for myself anyway.

A relative is fighting leukemia and fast losing the battle.
Their Dr. suggested some Physical therapy exercises to help clear their mind of the inevitable. Really?

I remember when I use to forget too.

I've discovered the beauty of arthritis the last few months, then had a ladder slip out from under me on ice and I landed on some woodwork. My Dad made it to 92.....I'm thinking I don't want to.

In general I do half as much but it takes twice the amount of time that it use to . And most often as not I am Not even half satisfied with the result .It has gotten to the point that I use to think anyone could be half of a donkey Now that I have become a half donkey I realize just how difficult being one is .

I stop in to the coffee shop once in awhile, there are half a dozen old guys always there ( i mean I'm only 66) one of them said "you remember when we used to talk about pretty women and sex" the other guy said "now we talk about what all hurts " the other guy said ya and what parts don't work anymore, the oldest guy said "I don't remember any of that " we laughed for 10 minutes about it
When I got home I was telling my wife about it her reply was hey you are already there too

I find myself writing dates on things with sharpie. Then while later like no way that's been that long I just laid it down.
Wife and I are in the store she says dang all the old people in my way. I'm like woman you best go look in mirror before you say that.

I know exactly what Jurassic Park is talking about. When I was young, I wasn't into drinking, so I didn't know if I could hold my liquor.
However, when I got older, the one thing I found out is that I sure can't hold my liquid.

I used to go to a bar, drink 4 or 5 beers, then look for the latrine. Now, I try to get a table close to the latrine. Course, I limit myself to 3 beers outside the house. Not worth a DUI.

I grunt when I stand up sometimes. Never used to do that. 8-10 mile hike could easy be done before noon and not be tired. Now it takes all day and I am exhausted. Used to have contests with my cousins. light matches with a 22 offhand at 10-15 feet. Iron sights are hard to use now. I could gut a doe or small buck, put it over my shoulders and walk 3-4 miles home in the foothills. Cant even get one up there now. Still enjoying life though. I just dont dwell on that stuff. i do regret not appreciating my youth more.
