So..... Seen peoel freaking out about Russias new hypersonic missile..... apparently we don't have anything close enough to be able to take care of one ......well decided to do some looking and....
[Linked Image]

Which ok neat that sure is formidable.....but...y'all remember Operation Burnt Frost ?
[Linked Image]

That satellite as going 7.3km per sec which converts to....
[Linked Image]

......anddd we shot that thing down.....in 2008.....
[Linked Image]

.....now of course this was planned pretty precisely with a lot of planning and all, and I'm no sure what's the cruising altitude of this thing ... I figure if it can go low enough it could definitely be more of a problem especially with the fact it can be steered .....but.... Again we shot down that Satellite....in 2008 am I the only one just sitting here thinking about the MASSIVE black budget the US spends on defense project and is just like.... "Mmmmkay" ? Like I'm 98% sure we have some stuff now that could knock that sucker out without too much trouble.... All the whole one of the multiple subs we have constantly tailing these ships will probably give them a nice little reminder about their presence .... Anyhow

During Reagans "star wars" days I was driving to Las Cruces N.M. one night. Over the Organ Mountain pass. Directly above White Sands Missile base and just south of Holloman A.F.B. I saw what looked like a column of blue light come up from the desert. Not a pin point like a pistol sight laser but a column. Yet the column was just that. The size was constant like a laser. There have been people working on missile defense for a LONG time. They been working on offense too. For a long time. Lets hope it never happens.

I suspect that with technology involved n CB fire that it is possible to defend against something like a hypersonic missile. It would require one heck of an intelligence system to detect, analyze and feed data to fire control systems. The millimeter wave radar on the AH64 Longbow is probably the best we have....but it needs to be airborne to be effective.

We know it's possible to shoot down cruise missiles from an aircraft but probably will work better to take an incoming head on rather than try to catch it from behind in the case of a HS missile.

Pretty easy to take down a satellite where the trajectory is known. More difficult on a cruise type missile hidden the terrain clutter and changing course to avoid terrain.

But what little I know about hypersonic missiles, I have the impression they have to leave the atmosphere and re-enter to achieve the maximum speed. IF that's the case, that would make them more vulnerable, especially in the boost phase

Saw on Drudge Report today that we have a warship in the Black Sea.

There used to be a thread several years ago about Russian submarines; Mr. Kelsey chimed in on it. I tried finding it but couldn't find it in the archives.

Anyway, I wonder if we know where Russia's subs are and I also wonder if they know where our subs are? Military submarine stuff amazes me. Super sneaky!

Why is our govt, both D and R, h*ll bent of starting a war with Russia?

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see fjb make a case for it tonight.

The zircon is not a ballistic missile. Thus you can not pre calculate its trajectory. It is steered till impact. It would be like trying to intercept an F18 with a piper cub being armed with a hammer.

How big is its payload? if it can be steered the control signal can be jammed

You are absolutely right!! You really think we actually spend 20,000 dollars on a hammer???? Those Hammer funds are what came out with Stealths and other things we do not know about!!!

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Not any Americans scared to fight Boco, rather just tired of fighting endless wars that we never win in order to keep people rich.

We've been at war nearly my entire life. F Ukraine, if they want "their" so called country, then they can fight for it.

We'd be better off fighting the cartels here.

Boco, your statement: "If you are scared to fight you have already lost. A war or a bar fight-same thing." appears to indicate, IMO, that you have not been in a bar fight, the military, or a war. Read Sun Tzu "The Art of War" sometime.

Not to worried about how fast Russia's missiles fly; they can't out run the speed of light, yet. Lol

Fighting is a lot like trapping, you wont learn much by reading about it,compared to doing it,lol.

So tell me Boco, how much fighting in either scenario mentioned have you done versus reading about it?

Then you've told me nothing. Me? . . . been there, done that in all of them, and then more than I'd care to mention. . . . no further comment needed.
