This is a spin off post from the superbowl ads, but the superbowl isn't the only place I've seen these ads... they seem to be everywhere.

My initial impression was that they were liberal based ads, but a few minutes of research showed that one of the major funders of the ads is the owner of Hobby Lobby, who is decidedly conservative.

So if you've seen these ads... what's your take?

I thought they were good. Anything that pushes back is fine by me.

I didn't know about Chick-Fil-A. I know Hobby Lobby is a major player here. I like the overall message although some of the content is debatable.

Oh jeezz I meant Hobby Lobby, LOL. Going to edit now, lol.

I would say they haven’t said anything unbiblical but they are intentionally vague to pique interest.

I have only seen the adds online , Didn't watch the bowl

it seemed to me like the adds were targeting generally younger urban peoples frustration of the last few years events. didn't necessarily take sides but let people see what they wanted to see in the images.

generally a lot of hate and anger

then suggest a alternative as JC

so it doesn't surprise me at all that modern religion adds would target the people that are least likely to seek out JC on their own.

nor that hobby lobby and chick Fillet have dollars behind it.

I saw it several times. Wasn't sure what it was about until the end.

While I haven't seen them, the article on FoxNews stated that one of them pictured couple of immigrants escaping persecution. This was portrayed as Mary and Joseph at the end. That is not biblical.

Without repentance it is meaningless.

I always thought Jesus was poor, but apparently not if he can afford adds on the Super Bowl.

I would agree that some of the content is debatable. Very interesting to say the least.

What He was and what He will be when He comes back are very different. Thank you Jesus.

While I get the all come to Him no matter what station of life my reading of scripture is full of statements like "go and sin no more" or " what must I do to be saved".

And while His mercy is for all and His grace is free just saying Jesus is a cool dude is not the way He laid out.

it's still marketing , it has to have some twist or embellishment , the truth hole truth in actual detail isn't as flashy.

any advertising is just dangling bait to see what will bite

Maybe it's a message on how we welcome. Immigrants. Or. Maybe it's a message on how we do not welcome immigrants.

I think it’s a great idea,,, if it can help people discover and learn about JESUS.

, some people are upset over “ the chosen” because some scenes are added to help the story along. The Bible doesn’t say what JESUS did 24/7 over 33 years. But it does stay true to the scriptures.

When they twist the story to fit an agenda, they have contaminated the truth with a lie.

After the Magi (aka: Wise Men) visited Jesus, Mary & Joseph, the family had to quickly flee to Egypt to escape from Herod's death order to all boys 2 years and under. I assumed that is what they are referring to.

Listening to the ads, you'd think it was about some random guy that just happened to be named Jesus. It reminded me of what Allie Beth Stucky calls "Hipster Jesus". I understand the idea to spread the message, its just the same kind of messaging that's just got us to the situation we are now culturally.

I kind of thought the intent was to get people talking about Jesus and or religion in general. If so, its working.
