I hate to tell you this, but i suspect indian slash government money has been floating this operation.

Actually, FHA gets 11% commission from sellers, 8.2% commission from buyers plus a per pelt handling fee from the buyer.

Per pelt fees range from 25 cents per possum to $100.00 per grizzley bear.

FHA does quite well on 50 cent rats and $2.00 badger.

Just saying.

Yep and it all goes back to us trappers, not out the door to some rich guys pocket ripping off trappers.
Why us trappers started our own auction house in the first place.
The board of directors makes sure the profits go first to running the buisness and expanding the facility when necessary, promoting fur and in years when there are profits above and beyond the necessities back to the trappers in RPC rebates.

Latest announcement from FHA........more bidders can only be better.

February 14, 2023
IMPORTANT UPDATE TO FHA’S MARCH 2023 AUCTION

We are committed to hosting live auctions, but there continues to be strong interest from many buyers
wishing to have the ability to participate online. An online pre-bidding process is being implemented into
our auction prior to the start of the live auction in order to service a large number of buyers unable to
physically attend.

Online pre-bids will be accepted prior to the March 20-22 auction. Online pre-bids can be placed in the
same manner as in our previous online auctions, allowing a starting bid and a maximum bid if desired.
Complete instructions will be provided to registered buyers. Those unable to attend in person and wishing
to place pre-bids online have from March 17-18, 2023 to do so as the online platform will close at Midnight
EST on March 18.

All goods will be on show from March 17-19, with the live auction commencing March 20. During the
live auction in the event of a tie bid with an online maximum bid, the hammer will fall to the buyer in the
auction room. The final price of each lot will be determined in the auction room

Too bad can not live bid and remote bid at same time. IMO would be the best of both worlds but then I am not an auction or IT expert.

After hearing for the past year that we shouldn't keep stuffing the pipeline with cheap fur, we shouldn't be surprised with the low offering for the March sale. Even if prices improve some, I wouldn't expect much of a bump in volume for the June sale. Routes will be picking up about a week after the March sale, so little time to process anything sitting around in freezers.

And a few already mentioned it but the old format where you could look at your past sales records + the sold catelogues for those sales was very convenient. Hopefully what is up now is a "work in progress" and we get something like the old format back.

I have to wonder with the February 14, 2023 IMPORTANT UPDATE, how many buyers they have registering to go to the live auction. It would be interesting to know what percentage is sold on the live floor compared to internet.

I dont know but you can go to the auction and write that stuff down-I been to the auction a few times just to check it out and meet the buyers.
After all we own the place.

RPC are issued at the discretion of the board to share the profits of our company with the trappers.
In the years of the better fur prices the rpc's offset the comission charges. When they are issued you have the choice to leave them invested with the company in which case they gain intrest,or you can cash them out each year.
They paid over a 50% return a few years ago when they matured and were paid out to trappers who had the foresight to leave their RPC's with the company.
Since fur prices have dropped the board directed the profits into work on the facility and promotion of fur.
RPC's will likely be issued again when fur prices rise and there is revenue above and beyond what is needed for fur promotion and other needs.
Last year the profits were directed by the trappers(BOD) to increase the cold storage facilities.

No debt is carried by FHA,The mortgage was paid off years ago.Totally different than NAFA.

Wrong again Dirt, I've received interest payments and have cashed in some RPC's and still have a few thousand dollars left

Ya it isn't being done on ebay daily lol. They should have live online bidding whenever there is any auction going on.

I'll say again, why don't they buy NAFA' s software, they're not using it.
