Tom in 2017 I broke my pelvis in 3 places, my back in 3 places, my femur and crushed the sacral nerve complex on my right side. I know the pain and commend you on not using narcotics, I could not imagine more pain than I was in so hope you are doing better than I was.

Getting up and walking hurt but its good for you. PT when you are cleared for it is vital. I know you're a tough old bird so not worried about you wimping out of PT LOL

Being as active as possible is key, they told me I would need a walker or crutches for the rest of my life as I had zero feeling or control of my right foot for nearly 8 months. Now I dont even use a cane, just use a leg brace.

Sounds like the same thing my dad went through. He broke his leg going to the mail box, laid there for a long time on the ice before my sister found him. Heal quickly Tom!

Get well it sounds painful a neighbor took a fall a few weeks ago broke her leg below the hip replacement area a real mess to fix, hang in there.

It isn't your age, you aren't THAT old any way. (Look at Arnie) It is the fact that you were at home and not watching for bad spots on the ice because you knew the ice was not going to give out under you like on a pond might. If you were on the line, you would have laughed at that ice with water on it.

You will mend up. You will be back on the line. And the mother beavers will still tell their kits stories about the boogy man named Tom who will get them if they don't eat their willow bark.

Not a good experience at all Tom! Keep doing as much positive excercise and walking as you can do and is suggested. I had right hip replacement in 2019 and that has worked out very well for me. Better than my left one now! So I can see what is coming down the road. Don't know how broken comparies to total replacement as far as healing time and srength gaining etc.

Real sorry to hear of the ordeal. Heal up and be ready for the beaver next season!

I've not kept up with Trapperman lately but just (15 minutes ago) returned home from the hospital after getting a new leg cast from a leg break between Christmas and the New year. Don't know if I'll ever be fully functional again. For you, I sincerely hope for the best.

I am taking some pain meds. Baby aspirin,tylenol,tramadol,celecoxib. LOL,the hospital given drugs worked a lot better.
