We used to have them hanging in the Barn when I grew up. They were for Bridles and Tack. They also kept the Reins and Harness from getting Tangled. Usually we had 4 or 5 Beside each other on the wall. Just Depending on how big of a team you had. We used 6 pulling the sled of Milk Cans or the sled for the Maple Sap.

Still have one just like it. Bought it from Herters in the early 70s. Haven't run it in years, but may have to get it out just to see if it will run.
