I don't believe I've ever shopped in a Dollar General. But, if they are selling stuff that cheap, I might have to check one out.

They have glitches in their system and it allows items to sell for a penny. Stores are supposed to pull these items before they penny. Lately we got a bunch of cheese items they are no longer carrying, ice cream, last week was 400 candy bars( like the ones kids sell at school for fundraising). Last year better hauls were 100+ mega rolls of toilet paper and dozens of laundry soap and dish soap.

I've seen a couple videos online that show the upper management is kinda screwed up. They will send product to stores with the stores having no way to deal with it. It gets piled up in the store and backroom.
The end result is a LOT of it gets thrown out. A dumpster divers paradise. I've seen in videos people loading complete pickups with free stuff out of their dumpsters.

Wish our Dollar General sold like that!

It's like they try to cram 50,000 sq ft of product in their tiny 15,000 sq ft store with little storage area. A rat maze down the aisles.

I hear this is so common , fire marshals have shut down several stores until they clear space.

Dollar General , isn't always a good deal , find the same products in other stores cheaper .
Plus they over charge at the check out.
The price marked at the shelf is most times lower than at checkout.

Inflation is a lot higher than they are saying it is.
Can't help but to remember the shortages under Nixon , everything was in short supply.

It irritates me when they ask to round up to the nearest dollar. I guess they consider it chump change.

Some convenience stores don't even post prices on stuff anymore. I walk on out the door.

I don't ever go there to buy items unless it pennies or 75% -90% off. Safe estimate of 300 light bulbs from yesterday that I will sell for more than the $2 invested in them and other items added to yearly garage sale.

I didnt know that- never heard of anyone doing that around here-or its a big secret. That would be the only deal at the ones around here. Our local one has stuff that looks like a deal until you look at the size and Walmart starts looking like a better place to shop. Plus I dont like buying stuff I dont really need at the moment just to get a deal.

All dollar generals do it. Some of course are better at getting rid of items before they penny out. There are legit groups on facebook that post lists of which items are going to penny each week.

Another thing you'll notice if you haven't already is while prices are going up the size of the package is going down

Now he's setting a $ 35 limit on it.
After they ( he and his fellow democrats ) made as much as they could.
Least that's what was on the news today.
