Eggs are less likely to have diseases. If I had an established Flock the only way Ide bring in new birds would be by buying and hatching eggs personally.

I think the hatchery can handle hatching healthy birds never heard of a huge die off at the feed store caused by the hatchery.

My wife sells her hatching eggs for $15/dozen. Granted they are nothing special, just a barnyard mix of Americana, saphire gem, and rhode island reds, but we thought we were making bank when we charged $12 at the beginning of covid. She's sold 10-12 dozen so far this year with one person willing to drive 4 hours round trip for them. We felt guilty about needing to charge $3.50 for eating eggs instead of $3. I guess we have a different mindset than some people.
