is getting close. The first of the catalogs are on line. The rest will follow over the next few days. Inspection starts next Friday, the 17th.

Grades probably won’t be posted until all the catalogs are done, so don’t get too excited. It will happen when it happens - no point in bothering the hard working folks in North Bay.

Fingers crossed on hybrid live / online auction. Have mainly rats, beaver, coyotes , marten on sale. And a few Lynx, bobcat. Too many trappers not active ; or just playing around compared to a few years ago. Time for a win. Not much supply… will this be the difference? But; the Ukraine war may also negate positives? We manned a fur booth on behalf of the AB trappers last week - lots of support. Most kids loved the fur… reassuring

As it is a requirement that all claws are on the hide in order to sell.

Whatcha talking' about? Canucks are born mellow. When they're born and the doctors spank them they don't even cry...they just grunt: "Eh?!"

I'm curious how that auction webcast will work out. Have they ever done that before, or is this a new deal?

Stupid question here. How can I tell if I have any fur in the top lot?

Log on to the FHA website.

Choose the "buyers" tab.

Choose the "auction catalog" tab.

Choose the species you want.

Check the lot number for the grade
you want to check on.

Compare your fur lot # to the
first lot in the catalog species
which will usually have a
lot number ending in 01.

For example, the top lot skunk
are lot # 180001.

The top lot is usually, but not always,
the first string in the catalog and usually
has the highest bid price of the species.

Keep in mind, "Top Lot" is the lot that garners the highest bid. Even if you have a pelt in the first lot, and it no sales, no certificate. Or if another lot gets a higher bid that lot will be the Top.

I predict there are going to be some happy trappers after this sale ends-pricewise. Beavers, Otters ,cats and going to go out on a limb and say coyotes( not crazy high but will sell) as well. Skunks will be hot again.and course Squirrels LMAO-BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE TOP LOT IS 7 SQUIRRELS AND 2 OF THEM ARE MINE!!

Yes, cautious optimism here too… would add Marten. Yes have over 100 carryover Western coyotes; so that would be nice. Hanging on to most of this years catch/ good Dec ones. And… got my first top lot Weasel (top # anyways) XXL/X-LARGE … 19 in lot.

Fingers crossed on Beaver - would be a great win for trappers

Thanks.
