I'm not sure that many commercial banks or Credit unions own many fixed rate mortgages? I think they sell them to Freddie, Fannie and then apparently to investment banks and the Fed.

Things are worse, banks are the tip of the ice berg. Private equity lending institutions is a bigger market with limited oversight.

Been years since there was a decline in trucking jobs. It's been my experience what happens in the transportation industry is a good indicator of what's about to happen nation wide.
