I used to send my beaver tails to Specialty Leather Tannery in Iowa and I see they are now out of business. Any other tanneries provide this type of service? Thanks!

I checked their website (Hough) and there is no mention of beaver tail tanning yet.

Never tanned before but are the tails that much harder to do then tanning regular fur?

If you've never done skin before, I don't think you'll get it right the first time.I have all the chemicals to do it, I am waiting for nicer weather to start. I will be doing some of my coons and coyotes. I was just wondering if it is more difficult

Hey everyone I'm new on here but wanted to let y'all know I tan beaver tails. Another hit for info, please ! If you are a viable source for tails, you will have plenty to do if the cost is doable, and your finish what I'm looking for, I promise you work !!

The outfit that bought Specialties equipment is working with a company in Pakistan who already tans beaver tails in volume for other customers. They hope to be able to offer a means to get tails tanned by the company in Pakistan. They said they are not able to offer the service in house at this time.
I also spoke to Ryan Moyle at the NTA and he indicated that they plan to offer beaver tail tanning at some time in the future but did not have a timeline for doing so.
