Had a 97 Buick Lesabre with 320,000 miles on it with the original plugs, still ran great when the frame fell out.

Gary I just sold my 2016 sierra had the 5.3 GM motor, probably same as your Silverado? Mine had 130,000 and original plugs, ran like a top and was an awesome truck.

Maint schedule didn’t show a change due on plugs and it went in religiously for oil changes and other services.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Yep, that what it calls for and when I changed them the first time, the electrodes were rounded considerably. Copper plugs wear out much faster, but have the best concuctivity. Its a 2nd gen, 2013....not sure what the 3rd gen tacomas call for. They might use platinum plugs which last much longer..?

Only 723,000+ miles now. Since I didn't renew my timber company contract, my driving has slowed down drastically.

As an aside, my vortec was running a little rough when starting it and had me wondering if it was plugs or something. My mechanic buddy cleaned out the throttle body and completely cured the problem. Took maybe 10 minutes.

I have a 2016 Silverado with a 5.3 engine. I take mine in for an oil change every 10,000 miles. My mechanic said 150,000 miles on the plugs.

2013 Silverado, 2500 (3/4 ton). Had the plugs changed and throttle body cleaned at 130,000.Tachometer dropped 200 RPM at 65 MPH on the highway.
Went from 13MPG to 16 MPG.

I've got a 2014 Tacoma with 50,000 miles. Runs great. Why should I change plugs and what happens if I don't?

And to think you could have gotten 460,000 miles on that 2009 if you had just changed the plugs..! Lol

New plugs can improve fuel economy on a Chevy Colorado. Speaking from first hand experience.
