I hadn't planned on it but was at the store the other day and 2.99 a pound corned beef brisket so I bough one and I have a head of cabbage. getting it going
I realize it isn't Irish and I am not Irish ,but it did sound good.

Wife just getting hers going in crock pot for this evening.. Im actually not big fan corn beef rather have ham & cabbage. But she only makes it once a year. Neither one of us are Irish just something she has always done. Likes to decorate and cook for most every holiday type thing.

We are Irish and it is my wife's birthday. We are having pizza! No pickled beef and bitter greens for us. just quit the sugar for a few months and cabbage is darn right sweet.

what is your recipe for corning venison , I pulled out a brisket from a cow I butchered this year to thaw last week thinking I would corn it , Sunday I decided to go a different direction and made it with plenty of pepper and onion and a can of tomatoes and we have been eating that all week. then I saw the ready to cook one at the store on sale Wednesday and grabbed it

Just now threw my corned beef into the water, emptied the spice packet, and am headed out to the garden to get some carrots and potatoes to go with the cabbage. (I let some of my spuds and carrots overwinter in the mud).
Having my kid come over this evening to help us quaff down some Guinness.
