I have lots of guys dont listen to me and cut the foot pads off wolves. How much you think they are costing themselves? I tell them that they are no longer good for taxidermy only trim.

Some of those beaver in the first part of the dressed fur catalog had slip spots and other dame. You can’t always judge things just by the price. You have to consider quality.

A lot of the wolves go for wall hangers after they are dressed. Feet/claws are a big plus. Foot pads don’t add any value in that situation.

I liked the way NAFA immediately listed the selling price on each lot. I wonder why FHA doesn't do the same. Any ideas?

Dressing costs for beaver is high.
Like wissmiss said you got to look at the product.
Just because a fur is dressed doesnt mean it is worth a lot.
Damages are easy to repair on beaver. Its all about the square inches left after fixing them.

Sask check the old NAFA pages for bear handling one of their old mags has it as well
whole lot of cleaning involved
all the claws have to be attached to enter into Ontario so be careful doing the feet

So, how long can FHA continue to sell low amounts of fur often at very low prices even if all the other add-ons are counted in to the tally? If North American fur is down to beaver, some marten, some bobcat, and the zoo in making the company (or cooperative or whatever it is) decent coin, how long before a death spiral starts where costs start being more than the revenue coming in??

FHA always shows a profit. In lean times the board dictates belt tightening.
Very well run company.No debt.

The low volume and low clearances probably hurts worse than the low prices. They can just service fee load to make up a bit for low prices.
