I think archery gear is much more over priced for what it is compared to firearm equipment. Just a "good" sight and rest can run 300+. Got my son a good setup last year, middle range equipment, over a thousand. I could buy a nice rifle and a lot of ammo for that. In 10 years that setup wouldn't be worth half what we paid for it. Rifle would be worth more than what I paid for it. But I've been a bow hunter for over 30 years and haven't given it up yet....

Does it require a limb change I did that to my original bear Alaskan compound and made it useless hope it is just a cam replacement.

I'm sure you'll have a serviceable bow in no time.

Getting back into bow hunting has been cheap for me. I use a bow I got in 1994. I picked up 20 arrows for $10 at a yard sale that aren't bent and are about the right length. I don't use a peep sight, don't think they made them when I started bow hunting? Never saw a need? I never used a release either. That's why God gave me fingers, lol. My biggest expense would have been broadheads, but I found the ones I had when I was a teenager. They'll do.

I did buy a target like the one pictured, though. I was surprised to find it cheaper than buying a couple hay bales like I used to use.

Lol. You will find quickly cheap is a relative term. It’s like most other things, can be a rabbit hole.

You will never achieve accuracy with a bow that doesn't fit you. That bow may/may not adjust to fit you.

$50....sell it...get your money back and buy one that fits.

Swamp is correct head to the local archery shop and two grand later you will be set and ready for a life long addiction lol ... Jon

I don't think you can put in a peep sight without a bow press and some experience of getting it right. Plus you'll need special thread, a device to apply it, glue, etc.

You'll be nickled and dimed by this bow forever Wolfie, get rid of it and start over and do it right. A bow needs to fit you, and be set up correctly or it will never work the way it should.

If you are serious about archery head to a pro shop. There are different ways to shoot I for one use a kisser button and no peep sight and my buddy doesn’t even know how I can even shoot lol

I had Heart Surgery and was told by my Cardiologist that Bow Hunting with my Compound was over at least for a few years. I tried to pull my Compound back after two years and it felt like my chest was going to rip open where the incision was. When I went back to my Cardiologist and told him he got mad and told me NO BOWHUNTING FOREVER. My wife was in the room and soaked that up like a sponge. When I got back above Ground a few weeks later my buddies had taken her to our Favorite Bow shop and she bought me a new Cross Bow, Bolts, Field tips and Broadheads. I ended up Donating my old Compound and goodies to a local kid who wanted to Bow Hunt. Keep it going I figured.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

That's just nuts!

I went to buy a new bow in the '80's to replace one I had bought in the '70's for around 75 bucks. They wanted a tad over 300, lol. I told the guy he was crazy because he had Remington 700's and Winchester 70's behind the counter for a couple dollars more. I bought a Winchester in 264 that I sold a couple years ago for 1500 and had I bought a bow I bet I couldn't give it away today.

A new top end bow fully rigged these days will be at least $1500 and you can easily put $2500 into one.
