Valentines day was when I took my fall on the ice and broke my hip. Surgery followed with rods and screws --found out yesterday that I have to have a hip replacement.
Pain has been so intense the last 2 weeks,that I was actually hoping that the surgery would take place immediately.
No spring beavering for me.
No way am I trying to catch up to Cotton--with body replacement parts--my hope is one and done.

Surgery is scheduled for next Thursday.Monday I have to go in and have an ultra sound and fluid drawn from the hip.They ran blood tests yesterday and a couple of things were a bit elevated,so they want to make sure that there is no infection. had several tests done yesterday--one of the most painful days of my life.My grandson did the driving both days and helped me get around to all my appointments,and up and down the stairs.My wife ,children and grandson ,have been a real blessing for me.

I've heard plenty of people who's main regret with hip surgery was that they didn't do it sooner.

I have had both of mine done, you will be up and walking onit in the afternoon.

Tom I'm a member of the two fake hip club. If yours go like mine did you will wake up pain free. Be up and walking couple hours later. Hardest part for me was getting in the jeep to go home. Big guy like you your going to want something with lot leg room.
