Sounds like they have hit the motherload when it comes to archaeology in Florida. It's cool that they are finding stuff from old civilizations in the USA. Now we don't have to go to the middle east to dig for old school goodies.

Those digs are a treasure of info concerning how people of many centuries ago achieved some goals of accomplishment that are beyond mind boggling. For example to make one point to use as an arrow tip had to take hours and more likely days to complete And than if you think of the process of making a bow plus arrows and attaching the point to the arrow shaft It required a lot of man hours to just have a primitive weapon .I am fascinated by how much more advanced the early humans where .We call them by any number of titles But they carved out an existence that we would not be able to match if we where forced to live in their world All of the modern things that are a normal thing to us did not exist back than Electricity, transportation ,gas powered equipment Even horse power was not the normal means of getting things done

Didn't take very long to knap out arrow points. They had guys that specialized in it.

There were some digs a few miles behind my house that carbon dated back 4-5000 years. Pretty cool.

It is fun to think about what life must have been like back then. Ruins like this point scientists in a direction, but there are still lots of blanks to fill in.

I'd guess guys who could flint nap and guys who could make arrows straight were probably VIPs in their communities.

Am I wrong in believing Indians are not actually native to the continent?

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I always thought it was the native women who made the points while sitting around chewing on leather that had been soaked in urine, lol.

They came from Siberia by crossing the Bering Straits.

Not necessarily came from Siberia, but certainly passed through there likely following the open coastline through the Bering straights during the last ice age. Sea levels were much lower then.

Unless I'm mistaken, there was a land bridge (frozen sea ice throughout the archipelago) which the first nation's people traversed to arrive on this continent

The land bridge was land not ice. Sea levels were lower due to water land-locked as ice(glaciers)

Yes, essentially Asian genetics in various 'waves' and a smattering of Australian Abo and Pacific Islander DNA in South American Indians thrown in just for fun

If you believe in DNA we all evolved from one African mother, and 26 percent of whites Caucasian in America have black DNA

Yes Drasselt, that's how I understand it as well. There is a pronounced absence of archaeological sites of this exodus largely because the coastline that they once traveled is now 100's of feet under seawater.

I'm familiar with the concept of the "one African mother", but the second comment has nothing to do with that at all. Caucasian's would be an evolutionary adaptation for living in northern climates which happened much much later. The notion is lighter colored skin was necessary to get sufficient vitamin D from sunlight.

I think the theory of the dry bering land strait has lots of evidence and was how the last wave of peoples came here. The is plenty of evidence suggesting though that people were here upwards of 100000 yrs ago. There have been tool mammoth bones found in cali that are the oldest. A lot of the mounds in places like Ohio apparently date to about 40. Also, lots of aztec and mayan cultures have clues suggesting they were around much before the end of the younger dryas/last ice age. Interesting stuff

I’ve been listening to a guy named Randall Carlson who is a geologist. He has been gathering data his whole life and has come to sort of a conclusion that there was a major flood event 12,800 yrs ago. This kind of dovetails with another researcher named graham hancock who thinks there were civilizations before the contemporary idea of 5000 yrs ago or so. Also dovetails with many cultures flood stories. Cool ideas if any of you are interested
