Quality traps hold their value when given proper care, and pay for themselves in the long run. I’ve got 10 dozen 280 and 330 Belisles. They’re worth 1/3 more today than when I bought them. Buy the best.

Is there a reason you need full closure on your 330s? Reason I'm asking is because if you don't need it for your target, the others are safer to handle. Hard to find a new bodygrip that isn't anymore though. Otherwise I'm not a great help. I wouldn't buy Belisle not only for the price, but I hate the safeties on them (I know, I know, that is what everybody brags on, but personally I hate a safety I can't swing into space when setting by hand.) I've got some of those Dukes like yours, and they work fine, but yeah I have no idea why they made them rectangular and would prefer them square like everybody else's. Still run some old square jaw Victors and they work and if you catch your hand in them you can just pull it out, unlike the full closure magnums. The Bridger is decent trap, but the spring eyes. The newer Victors with ears on the jaw corners work fine, but I don't know that they are worth the price jump over the Bridger and Duke traps, even if you could find somebody that still had some in stock.
Other than those three and the Belisle's I don't know that I've had much experience with other brand 330s.

I used to have a menagerie of different brands of traps on my lines. Each with their own advantages disadvantages and quirks. Now, Ive always been primarily a body grip guy, so when I tried the Belisles and started to see how consistent they were and all the other advantages I got rid of all the others and now just have Belisles. Life is soooooo much better. Every year I end up catching at least 5 or more beaver by feet or tail. That alone way more than offsets any higher price I may have paid.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

i got the deal of the century on some body grips a while ago: 330s for 5 bucks, 220s for 3; that was probably the only reason that i could afford as many as i got.

I love Belisles and I think the safeties are one of their selling points. They have strong springs. I prefer the Belisle Classic over the Super X because the Super X is too hard to stabilize unless you are using other stabilizers. The Classics have the same strong springs and safeties.

Okay, looks like the rudy is full closure based on this one video I found. It's at the 1:00 mark.
But....
PCS the only one that sells rudy in the US doesn't seem to offer a discount for buying twelve like all the other trap makers do.
There's a plus $8 difference to the belisle per trap but with discount only a $66 difference, not counting shipping. And trapshed is just an hour north so I can save on shipping.
Looks like PCS is not interested in selling to many rudy traps.

I'm no big numbers pro, but generally if I get hired to kill a beaver it winds up dead more often than not within 24 hours. I run a mix of Belisle and Dukes. Never had a situation where an inch of jaw spread made a lick of difference...so where theft is a concern I run Dukes. When theft is not a concern, I just use whichever trap I grab out of the milk crate LOL. But if I really needed the criteria you lost, I'd probably bite the bullet and buy the Belisle.

I'm cheap too, and I love my belisles. I don't see an issue with Dukes not being perfectly square though. Mine have to be at least halfway submerged and there have been cases when having a trap that's an inch shorter helps me
You can buy a dozen duke magnum 330's for $250. A dozen belisle dogs for 22 bucks. Then use 5 bucks worth of wire or so and install Nessmuck's safety trick so the safeties don't slide all around. You now have a poor mans belisle. $275 bucks a dozen or so
Belisles are 380 a dozen. Just saved yourself a hundred bucks. Go fill up the truck with gas
Gotta live up to the nickname...

Got it. I have not had an issue with spring eyes slipping over the corners on my duke magnums. But they are only 4 or 5 years old and the springs are still very very strong. I have some older dukes that have that issue, but not the magnums. My only problems with them are the safeties and dogs, but as mentioned above those are both easy fixes
