Stopped by my spot at daybreak this morning and let out my best scream in owl language. The ridges erupted all around me for as far as I could hear. Thought I was dreaming for a bit, it was like the golden days 10-15 years ago! Back then I remember one morning before opening day, I stood in one spot and counted 16 different gobbles all around me. Hasn't been anything like that in a while. Probably be all silent this weekend when youth season arrives but I'm hopeful!

Birds are everywhere. The cell phone camera tells me they are In the food plot around 9:30 every day. Just dosen't seem fair. LOL

I had the same thing in north central WV this weekend. Looks like we might hit it good this year. I'm off the entire week and can't wait.

I got a tag and I think my dates are may 10-16th or close to that. Acquired some new land that was loaded with turkeys during trapping season and I can hunt it for catching some coyotes off it. Trying to make up my mind whether to bow hunt or not. I've not shot many 9ver 25 yards anyway hunting in the woods. Good luck to everyone.

I have had 3 big old toms just a sparring and strutting in the field next to my house for a week. Northern Jackson County

My Farm in Clay has them going off and then not hooking up with hens until about 9 am. Then theybare with them for awhile and coming to calls. So I skeddadle.
