So my son and I are out for zone 1and 2 we came today and probably covered 300-400 miles trying a power scout. We drove by a ton of public and a lot of wiha and we’re very disappointed. Anybody have insight to walk-in or public

The bird numbers are down no other way to spin it. Try around some of the corp projects. Milford, Tuttle creek have good amounts of public land and decent water and food sources around. It’s dry in most of the state so stay east would be my advice…

Not much of a turkey hunter and don't hunt much public ground around here but the turkey numbers seem way down around here. Like have only seen maybe a couple of birds in the last three months. Sorry I couldn't offer any help.

Turkey numbers are down in my part of the world too. You might be surprised when you find birds if you knock on the door, introduce yourself and ask politely how many will let you hunt.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Good advice Danny. That area of Kansas is some of the nicest folks you will meet. Don't limit yourself to public. Knock on a few doors and you may be surprised what you can get into. I'd stay more in zone 2 around water

Gotta live up to the nickname...
