Several years ago while guiding for moose on the Churchill River, and during very low water, I came across this gun. It obviously had been under water for a long time and interesting was the breach was partially open. Now in this part of the country, no one gives up their gun willingly. Appears to be Savage 99 in 30 cal (303 savage)? I brought it home for a conversation piece. [Linked Image]

Many years ago a friend was cutting firewood in a log jam on a sand bar. His small son was crawling in and out of logs and found a Pelican gun case. They got it out and found a Sako 375 H&H. It was terribly rusted and the action wouldn't open. He pulled out the foam to dry it and found a couple thousand dollars in 100 dollar bills under the foam AND the guy's name and address. He tried for a couple years to contact him but never could. We figure it came out of a boat that capsized upriver years before

We were going to check an old Coal Mine in Logan County and found an ols Booby trap using an old Double Barreled Muzzleloader. Ir was still wired with the hammers back. Obvioiusly left over from the Coal Wars but completely rusted to heck.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Cool!

Rifle Colorado is rumored to have gotten its name from a trapper leaving his gun leaning against a tree.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

A friend of mine found two old I guess dragoon pistols in a sand bar on the Kaskaskia river in southern Illinois

I love a mystery like that. Great stories!

Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.
