The rise of beaver prices this year is interesting.

Gonna meet GFW in the morning with some frozen beaver. I'd be happy with a $21 average too.

I don't believe so, had some $40 supers and $30 blankets. The averages at sales with 10% commission brings them down to this or lower.

I sold some to him today in Warrensburgh. $ 20 average on beaver. I saw a guy sell him castor for $ 10 Lb.I should have bought the guys castor and paid him double.

Roughly what did your $40 weigh and $30 ? What was the smaller beaver worth?

Supply. Supply and demand at work. Remember these 20$ levels just recently occurred if the demand has any depth, you could be speaking too soon. Enjoying the optimism of satisfaction in sales again.

It equals out to 9 dollars to flesh and put up a hide.

Takes me 1.5 hours to flesh/board a beaver...$6/hour for the work involved. That is probably triple what we make trapping! grin

Might be more than what they make for all the other work and expense excluding flesh and put up. smile
