DVinke OP trapper D Joined: Jan 2023 WA/AZ/NE/IA	I have been bounty trapping and hunting from the age of six. Started out on gophers. Am I wrong for accepting money from the government for providing a environmental service? Today is a gift, that is why it is called the present (rip my friend)

Trapper7 trapper T Joined: Dec 2006 MN, Land of 10,000 Lakes	Nuisance trapping is a necessary management tool. I don't see it as any different than nuisance trapping regardless of who is paying you. Got a gift from my brother. It was 3 AA batteries with a note that said, Gift Not Included.

bblwi trapper B Joined: Dec 2006 East-Central Wisconsin	Farmers get paid $40 per acre to plant cover crops to better the environment so I guess a few bucks for gophers is not the thing that will break the bank. Back in 1957 at age 10 I started trapping pocket gophers and our township had a .25 bounty on each gopher. Most of the farmers would pay me an extra nickel or dime per gopher too. Most profitable trap lines I have ever run. High percent profit, but not high income. Bryce

I sure wish I still had that bike. There was a lot of hay ground back then. Grandpa did put in some money,but made me pay him back. It was a great trap line machine for a kid. My uncle Alvan Jenson worked for the county running a maintainer and always keep the roads open the best he could. He was also the mayor of Asponwall IA, and owned the liquor store. I miss the days off high fur prices (muskrat) and cheap gas. Always sold to buyer on the westside of Manning IA, but I can not remember his name.
