I don’t know if we are a the original organic farmers, or that we were to poor to purchase spay.In the summer after the crops were to high to cultivate, we were sent to the fields, with a hoe and had to remove the existing weed.
 Hot as heck,
Always paid of at the elevator. (Grain reserving station)

Yes, I still drive by bean fields and notice weeds and old corn and shatter Cain growing up higher than the beams.Clean bean fields look great.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

When I was a young'un in Ohio, my uncle, who is three months younger than me, and I would hoe grandma's garden. The rows were about 50 yards long, and she paid us each a nickel a row to hoe. When we got enough money, we would get on our bikes and pedal three miles to the store and buy BBs. When we ran out of BBs, we'd do it all over again.

I can add working tobacco to those mentioned but need to subtract . "Turning watermelon vines", please explain. The vines would grow out from the hill. We would walk along and pull them around, lining them back up with the hill so they could be cultivated without damaging them.
