I would have went for a face to face. No swearing. Just told them in plain language that wont fly.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

My sons sr year he got kicked out for 3 days for having copenhagen and chewing in class. He had already enlisted in the Marine corps and was leaving after graduation. He was still 17 though and a deputy came out and wrote him a ticket. I was not very sympathetic as I had told him to quit taking it to school. So when he goes back he put a can of beef jerky in his pocket with the same shape. Principal asked what it was and he told her. She says show it to her and he says no. Only LE was going to search him. So she calls the sheriff, deputy comes out, Mike shows him the beef jerky. Deputy was laughing principal was not. She started talking about kicking him out for a week. I put a stop to that nonsense right quick. She signed his diploma but i dont think she wanted to very bad.

I was in the 8th Grade and my father wrote a note excusing me from school at 2:30. I showed it to my teacher at that class and he signed it and told me to take my Books and head to the Office and give it to them. Mr. Studola was also my neighbor and he knew I was going Hunting with my dad the opening day and we were leaving for camp to get there. No Problem right? Well I went to the Office with the note and they told me to wait out by the Doors. Then the Principal comes up and sees me waiting there and Demands to know what and Why I was there and not in Class. I explained everything and he went Ballistic about me being so young to Murder little animals. Then he grabs me by the neck and pins me against the wall and starts going Ballistic and really screaming at me. I was trying to grab his arm to get his hand off of my neck because I could not Breathe. That is when we both looked over and saw my Father coming through the Doors and he was PO'd. He started Beating on him at that table and all the way into the Office. Then we left and went hunting. Guess what my father never went to Jail and the Principal lost his Job. Come to find out I was not the only child he had beat on and Parents started coming out. No Charges were ever filed against my Father but the school Board ended up in a lot of Court Battles over him and he was fired. That is what needs to happen. Start putting your kids into a Private or Group up and Home school. Every child has a certain amount of Financing that is paid for their education. Go to a Private or Charter school and talk to them and find out if that will cover it or how much extra you need to chip in. Our Granchildren are in a Private Christian school and after their Federal allotment my wife and I only pay an extra 200 dollars for all 4 of our Grandchildren which is paid quarterly which is less than 100 a month for all 4. It is worth it.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Hang in there and dont give an inch.
My son was 7 and I took him back packing in CO for a mule deer buck. He wasn't ready to shoot one but I did let him bring his 22. Went to the school and told them I was taking him out for a couple weeks for the deer hunt. I needed to know what he needed to do school work wise. First thing they said was they couldn't allow that. This was in 1990. Got pretty excited when I said I was not there for permission. We had a great time. Killed a nice buck. He still talks about eating back strap cooked on a camp fire. Don't let them have an inch. I love this story Danny! Your son would certainly not remember the two weeks he spent in school but will never forget that hunt. There are lots of ways to learn and the most important learning happens outside of school. Your son got a life lesson there. Great job!

Heard about a teacher who was gay teaching kids about the LGBT lifestyle. When the kid went home and told his parents, they contacted the school. The teacher complained and the kid was taken to the principal's office and reprimanded for telling his parents.
We are living in a world where the intelligent must be quiet so that the no common sense people won't be offended.

Home school has many advantages. So does private school. Only if you find the right one and they don't get an agenda pushing instructor or two sliding in. At the end of the day your putting someone else in a position of authority over your kids that spends more time with them than you do. I'm sure some are great but it is a gamble so a Hard pass for us.
