I would love to have one of those Rifles all decked out. My Stand back on the Mountain is on a High Line and I could shoot Deer for thousands of yards. My 7 mag does the job at 400 yards but I have everything measured off.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Long distance shooting is expensive. If you want to be profiecient. The rifles and optics both are pricey. My old ruger 300WM all weather with a zytel stock shoots pretty good. I never even bedded it. I think it would be competetive with a 1000 dollar scope and some more playing with loads. A little accuglass. I been considering it. But just good long range bullets are pricey. I would need some good Lapua or starline brass. All mine has been full length resized. Pointless to try and group them by weight. Need a good neck sizing die too. Not sure I want to go through the effort. At 100 yards from a bench I can shoot quarters with it now.

Actually not anymore. Optics and rifles have gotten very good for what they are. Arken and SWFA being prime examples. Sub $500 glass and their beating the dog mess out of a lot of the more expensive Their tons of people shooting long range very effectively with sub $1500 builds. The real thing is most people just don't wanna put in any work. As far as load development truing data ect.

As after as neck sizing..... Well this guy is liget the won the FCLASs world championship among with the national (MUTIPLE times I think) and he full length resizes exclusively

Measuring at just below the shoulder my FL die sizes my brass at (300 win mag) at .488. Fired brass is .491. So .003 difference. In the sizing video one of them mentioned .002 so my dies are probably good enough.

Back In the 60s while In The Corps I worked the rifle range spotting for competitive shooters. They used worked over M1s with stock peep sights. And In the Off hand position could put every round In a 40" bull at 1000 yards. And most of those shots were In the 10" ring. They knew the range and were dialed In.
