I have to admit, it's not easy getting used to citified living. I'm 5 years in and still not sure if this is an acceptable practice. Today, I pulled out the post hole digger and created the beginnings of my front yard asparagus bed / rock garden. The crowns are in the ground, the rock will be applied after they break through. Acceptable, or no?

I don't see a darn thing wrong with it. The rock perimeter looks good and it's functional to boot.

I assume you are going to cover that black fabric with mulch or rocks or something? I couldn't do city living.

Yep, going to put river rock in there. I figure the new owners might pay extra for the "green bling".

PLEASE Don't paint the rock you put in there in Rainbow Colors!!! Fluorescent Orange for Deer season!! Or else Camo for summer. Heck even a cooler with Beer in the Middle will class it up Red Neck style!!!

I would put grapes in the holes closest to the fence and let them climb up it but that is just me.

I would, but the lady next door is a big wine drinker and I'm afraid she would abscond my grape crop!

As said above you need tires, toilets, and a 5 gallon (blue) bucket garden.
Also a hammock.
The worse part is someone looks like they mowed your lawn!!! No self respecting redneck would put up with that.

Now go get yourself a half keg made into a grill, a broken picnic table and a couple cases of yuenling and have yourself a BBQ

That said, I’m guessing some dude from the city office should be stopping by in a day or two to let you know how many local rules your breaking. That or a strongly worded letter in your mail box.
