I got the exact same gun for my 12th birthday. My great grandfather bought it new, and my grandmother gave it to me. I gave it to my oldest son a few years ago when he had his first child. I'd hate to guess how many shells I ran through that thing..... dang, thanks for the memories

I have never uttered one of those phrases... The other I have uttered multiple times. Take a guess as to which is which.

It's a safe bet that at some point you'll realize that even though you paid more for that gun than you should have... you'll think that the price was a bargain anyway.

Mike

It really wasn't THAT expensive. The sold price was $550... with taxes and shipping about a hundred more. No idea if that's a good or bad deal but know it was less that they've been selling for. Still a lot for me though.

looking at prices you did well that seems to be about the going price

if you look at your muzzle does it have a choke tube in it now ?

Meh... I'm picky about guns I buy to begin with. But the pile of "should've bought" is way bigger than the "why did I buy that" pile.

I like it too Angela. Congratulations. I would think that will be a great little grocery gitter.

Everyone of those I’ve handled had a terrible hard trigger pull. They can be worked on and and made better. My dad had a 222 over 20 gauge and trigger broke at 9 lbs

It's a common issue with these. Hopefully she gets a good one.

I was trapping in WY with a buddy that had one in 223 over 12 gauge. Had a 3 inch load of buckshot in the shotgun. went to shoot a coyote at about 200 yards. leaned into the scope with those see thru rings he had installed. shot the 12 gauge rather than the rifle. bloodied his eyebrow. I thought it was hilarious. He whined like a fresh spanked puppy.

The 24 is a heavy gun.
The one I got has got to have the tightest choke of any shotgun I have ever owned.
it will blow the heads off partridge at 60 yards.

Very cool. Have one in 22 Hornet / 20 and 222/20. The 22 has been awesome. Haven’t used the 222 much

Lol WV Danimal, I like your style. My guns get used too, the scratches and blemishes all tell stories.

Are they both Savage 24s? Good to know about the Winchester chokes, I’ll have to keep an eye out . I need another gun, haven’t bought one in a few weeks grin
