Glass of milk or three for breakfast Couple or more splices of cheese or meat for snacking during the day and then protein for dinner. Dinner is not at a set time. I am 6’2” and weigh 188 and 60 years old. Pure love and muscle.

But you with the sugar issue probably should stick to a set schedule

But you with the sugar issue probably should stick to a set schedule I can’t. Sometimes when I eat because of a schedule I’m miserable afterwards, and that’s before coming here and reading some of Marty’s posts.

Having a drill Sargent Mom and everything was at a certain time, period. Left home and now my wife and I eat whenever we want, do whatever we want and have been for 63 years.

some of each
my wife wants supper between 6 and 7:30 most every night sometimes it is 8 by the time it happens
at work I have to take lunch around other peoples schedule and my own work load , some days I eat some days I go work in the garden for 30 minutes.
I found I didn't need 3 meals a day , hardly 2
coffee and a pepper with cream cheese maybe a hand full or two of nuts and a string cheese till about 1 then a salad , then supper seems to be about right most days
I am extremely low carb if I get carb happy for the day it looks like some raw fruit or regular beer and I keep that to days when I have more activity than my day job. on weekends I may do breakfast of eggs and supper , I am also moving more on my own time.

I eat according to my Diabetic sugar count. That determines that I keep a schedule and WHAT to eat. I do a lot of Carb Counting and try to keep a schedule especially for 8 am Breakfast and 6:30 Dinner. Lunch a lot of times just gets thrown in between!!!

I assume you use insulin ? that definitely makes you eat similar stuff and watch that number. I am type 2 non insulin I almost couldn't hit low blood sugar trying. or at least I haven't got there yet and I often go 8 hours on couple hand full of peanuts and coffee , lowest I have gotten so far is mid 90s

I was taking my insulin at night until I woke up at 3:00 one morning with a 38 blood sugar. Ice cold sweat and couldn’t move. No rescue tablets but had some sugar and brought my reading up to over 100. I had been trapping and running hard earlier that day. Being cold and not eating enough leaves your sugars low anyway. I changed to morning taking my shot so I can monitor while awake. Hasn’t happened again. High is safer than low. Age has a lot to do with readings I have found!

Many years ago when I was a newbie here, I had an old Native guy and his wife pull up to my beach in his 36 foot hand made wooden boat. (lumber was whipsawn from spruce trees) This guy couldn't read or write and had no knowledge of numbers............ and he spoke a different language than his wife. They could both speak a little English but she would never do so in front of anyone else. Anyway, one day they pulled in to my beach just about noon. I grabbed the rope and tied the boat. I looked at my watch and asked if they wanted to eat lunch with me. The old guy looked at me with a puzzled look and asked..............."do you have to look at your watch to know if you are hungry "? Not only did that make complete sense but I thought it was pretty funny too.

I eat when I am hungry but I eat all clean foods...no soda pop, just water. I take my meals with me so I can eat good food if I want to eat.
