I've heard of 3 farmers up here that have met with their insurance adjuster and they had there wheat adjusted between 2 and 4 bushels per acre. I don't think rain will save our wheat crop up here at this point. There saying that if they take the insurance they can swath and bale it, but can't pasture it. Local sale barn the last 3 weeks has average 400-600 slaughter cows and 300-350 pairs and bred cows through the ring each week. There consignment list for tomorrow looks like about the same number.

I've been wondering why the Arkansas River has been so low this spring. Plenty of rainfall here at the tail end. Sounds like not so much at the starting end. Hope y'all get some rain.

Arkansas river starts up above buena vista co. plenty of snow above bueny and down to canon city. just to early for a big runoff. wont be long

had some rain here. not as bad as west of me but not near enough. dry east of me too. pastures dont have any grass to speak of. corn is still only 2 inchs tall in a lot of places. there is some wheat here but below average
