it is sort of nothing special

they aren't light , they aren't short, finding decent selection in ammo is meh
brass is commanding stupid prices
the bolt break down tool that is supposed to be on the right side of the stock is missing
yet another bullet size to try and find and stock

I know , not like me to talk people out of guns , it just isn't really anything special , the sights leave a lot to be desired it does have scope mounts.

Mausers are fun to learn about when they are in original military dress, we got one in the cosmoline , right of passage for a young man to clean up surplus gun in the cosmoline and learn all about it , but you get none of that with this.

it might shoot decent , but you have a bunch of other guns to hunt that shoot decent or better.

Boco, I'm curious as to the SMLE being a "better" gun. Perhaps a better battle rifle, but a poor choice from a reloading standpoint. Overly generous chamber and bore dimensions make for short life of brass.
