I get probably 6-7 catches a year like those in the pics with my Belisles.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

There are other traps that close as tight without the jaw bending seen on the belisles.
Sauvageau and LDL are the two I know of.Could be otherr magnum traps also that I am not familiar with.

I'd put my life on my Belisles. I have the 220's and the 330's. If its tripped, it caught something. Can't tell ya the last time I walked up on a tripped one with nothing in it.

Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

The Belisles are great full closure traps . I also haveSauvageau's that I love because of their larger opening I do have one that bent though My Bridger 330's I bought quite a while ago always amazed me. Have caught them by the tail, and tip of the nose in them but not by a foot yet. Their closure is very tight

I also get catches like that every spring with my belises. That's the difference between a caught beaver and a trap shy one with other models. I also caught my thumb in a 220 belises this spring doing some skunk work. Let me tell you I went into shock man .

Nothing closes tighter than the sauvageau c-120 mag.
Best killing trap bar none.
Unfortunately havent been made for years.

I love belisle, but I hurts real bad when one gets stolen.
Had two stolen mile from the road behind a locked gate, thought I was safe.”WRONG”

If I could find a fault with the Belisle Super X, it would be that, depending the bottom, it's harder to stabilize than other traps. Most of my Belisles are the Belisle Classics. Still with the powerful springs and great safety latches.

It's not always about catching fish. That's what people who don't catch fish usually say.

Good to hear. Got a dozen of these sitting in the shed and never tried them yet. Maybe just have to bring them to camp this fall. Springs are big

Yea they are heavy because of the big springs and the added kill bars.
I like them better than the sauv 2001-5.

They just don't work worth a hoot on Beaver.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I got to agree with Boco on the LDL traps on tight closure...very well made trap. I have some that are over 20 years old and still going.
The Sauvegeau traps will occasionally bend but it is another good trap. I'd like to see a trap that has ALL the features that we beavers trappers
like...good safeties, strong springs and magnum jaws that don't bend.

Belisles. Kiss theory works well.
If i were to fur trap again, then duke in high potential theft areas. But, i don't see myself doing that anytime soon.
Belisles for me.
