We got a little rain early this morning. I hope central and western Kansas got some too. My father was born in 1932 and remembers the dirty thirties. He said it was much drier then.

been back in Missouri for 8 years now and this is the most droughty I can remember. Pull up the drought monitor map and we are smack dab in the band that shoots up towards Sedalia Missouri. Not quite as bad as Hutch, Wichita or west of Salina yet. Rains come within 20-30 miles or so, but we keep missing them. Saw lightning this morning south of us but that storm is moving straight east and wont get close.......hang in there Kansas brothers, this too shall pass.

Local sale barn has the longest line of trailers lined up I've ever seen..lots of pastures being emptied

Rain gauge had over 4” in it tonight. Got pretty wild for awhile this afternoon. Put some water in some ponds but didn’t fill most of them.

We got maybe half an inch and was happy to get it. It will keep the pastures and crops in the game for awhile. Pretty good storm when it hit but was moving pretty fast through here

We got a steady rain for 90 mins or so. I didnt look at the rain gauge, hoping that we got at least a 1/2". Forecast has multiple mentions of rain, but we all know how that goes.

rained good here. That panasonic battery plant im hauling into has gravel roads. quary is all gravel too. i dont think the rain shut us down. will get a call at 6 to let me know

Got at least an inch ten, too late for wheat but will definitely help with double crop beans and regular season beans and milo… prayers answered….

Dust bowl days again?
Had a dust storm here a few days ago. Never seen that before in my 76 years.
Blew dust for maybe 1/2 hour before it started raining.

If you cut the wheat for forage or hay does that prohibit the producer from any crop insurance proceeds they may have gotten if they let the crop grow to ripe grain? I am not up on crop insurance as I used to be so I don't know all the details. That is assuming one bought crop insurance for the crop.

For hay I know they will pay insurance on the grain loss

No Bryce it doesn’t. They will come and appraise the wheat and pay whatever difference there is from your APH according to whatever percentage of crop insurance you have. It works both ways on good or bad wheat. I’m getting ready to knock down a pivot of wheat because one of our yards needs the hay. It’s good wheat and they will appraise it and apply it to my running bushel average.

How many states that are having problems with no rain or too much do they fly and seed the clouds to control the weather? It is a full time thing in ND and I can't say I think they are helping anything.
