The only other trap I had a catch like that was a Bridger magnum. Only one though.

Ouch 160! I’d rather get caught on the neck than where the jaws hit that sucker!

Makes ya wonder how? Climbing over the trap I guess

I often wondered how he got caught like that but it sure made my "castors" hurt just seeing it. He was a pretty nice old boy.

I assume they're backing up to spray castor on the intruders castor mound. I picture like a cat spraying.

Those odd foot catches are great until it happens near a road on day one of a three day check..............

Yep...or you're doing ADC work around walking trails, etc. Having a live animal tied up in these places will get you a lot of unwanted attention and you'll likely lose that job.

Every magnum I have used will catch beaver (and otter) by the tail, foot, etc. Fur trapping it's usually great. Some places it's NOT.

That would be my guess too.

Immigrants who bypassed legal process in migrating to the US demand legal process before being kicked out.

These 2 were both in fully submerged dive sets, dog on bottom. I'm guessing the tail caught one got most of the way through before the trap fired. There was a good amount of current and rising water. The front foot catch was in a deep bottom edge type set, insignicant current with blocking. I have no idea why it got caught that way although the set was kind of deep and under the brush so there was a braille factor involved. So just guessing.

you can vote your way into socialism, but you will have to shoot your way out.

I have caught several muskrats by the tail after they almost made it through in Bridger 12/16 magnums unintentionally, and one beaver by the tail.
