Got me, never saw them before.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

No holes in the tabs ?
Looks like they would slide over the sideboards on a truck bed to create strong attachment loops.
If so, maybe these are new and were never drilled ?
I's like to have a few !
Cool !

I'm in the same thinking as crowfoot. Looks like something would mount on edge for tie point could even swing a gater or door on them with pins.

given the holes and the very round nature of the eye I am leaning more towards a gate hinge

the design with the long side indicates they need to not rotate so that eye stays true and will fit over a pin for a gate hinge

basically the old fashion version of this but so that they sandwich the wood , possibly even held in place by a rivet rather than a bolt

Single tree/double tree ends. Note the wear in the rounded corner; where the hooks fit, that connected to the tugs.

My Granddad had a collection of old yokes and trees of my great grandads. Grandpa said that the ropes could be adjusted from a caries of knots. He said he learned to not like horses much because they absorbed his youth. Great gramps was a horse team trader and trainer and grandpa was a master with horses even though his love was farming and raising cattle.
