Been watching all the episodes of this excellent definitive documentary series about WW2.on U tube.It was produced by the BBC in 1974 I believe.
Lots of good interviews with people who lived it and lots of great footage.
The first 2 episodes are an eye opener to what is happening today.
26 episodes.

How is it an eye opener about what's happening today?

Its been on all month for Memorial. I think the Smithsonian channel.

The segment on Ukraine was interesting as to how the Russians starved them to death and then the Germans exterminated a bunch of them. No wonder they don't like either of those countries.

World at war is an excellent documentary.I watched years ago, found it on YouTube recently and watched it again.Equally good are the documentaries on Operation Barbarossa, when Germany invaded Russia, and the Battle of Britian.Unbelievable how the RAF spanked the Luftwaffe when England was teetering on losing the war.

Yes it is the best most comprehensive narrative of the entire war, from Hitlers rise right thru to the A-bomb ending in VJ day.
26 episodes, you can watch them individually to what battles intrest you or watch it right thru chronologically from beginning to end.

Thanks for the post Boco. Was not aware of it. Gotta try to make time one day. Still not over reading Winston Churchill's "The Second World War" with 6 volumes and over 4,000 pages of small print.

One of the best books I have ever read is Tom Brokaw's "The Greatest Generation" and the follow-up book "Letters From the Greatest Generation" I have watched the World at war and it is a great documentary. All three are a real eye opener in history and the horror of war and the causes.

BOCO very interesting post!
Sad no one under 65 will watch it.
Too uninteresting for them.
Truth and facts seems to turn them off !

I don't agree with you on much but on those points I do. Excellent books and documentary.
