She will bait it but will get the hook out only on some fish. She Caught a Musky on the elk and when she saw the teeth she handed it to me. I Clean because she cannot Filet worth a dang. Leaves too much meat on the Bone. But for a retired City Professional she loves fishing and Trapping with me. Even Killed a Turkey this year. Out of the Barn Pasture when she was feeding of a morning.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

And take the hook outta the feesh? I know of one. Darn good woman she is. She can grab a minnow out of a bucket very handily. My wife hooks her own leeches once I showed her how to do it. We fish with grasshoppers later in the summer. She hooks those too.
I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Not any more but now as we approach empty nest days I’m sure she will again. Both daughters do, as well as tie all there own knots etc., my youngest runs a bait caster better than me and 95% of men.
life is good......

Nope the Mrs doesn't even fish. She loves to eat it and tells me to go fishing all the time. The great granddaughter just started fishing with me and baiting the hook

Yes, and so does my daughter. They both will kill, clean, and cook game and fish.
I would not have them being helpless and not able to do such simple task. Wife runs one heck of a garden also.
You would not have them? If your wife told you she would not bait her own hook, you'd divorce her? I bait my own hooks, clean my own fish, trap my own critters, cut up my own deer, etc.... BUT if someone told me they "would not have me" not do any of those things, there would be an issue.

BUT if someone told me they "would not have me" not do any of those things, there would be an issue. A wonderful example of a few things. First and what comes to mind is how sensitive people are these days. Take offense I maybe some how keeping a woman in her place or some such nonsense when what was stated is the opposite wanting the ladies in my life to be able and willing to do things for themselves. And no I would not divorce her I would not have married a woman that was not willing to get her hands dirty and learn how to do things Like cut a chickens throat, pluck it, stick her hands in it and remove its guts , then package it or cook it. All her idea to raise meat chickens ourselves by the way not something I demanded of her. When we go places together I tend to drive. A decade ir two back we were going to the store in the car(her car) and when I started to start the car i asked her if she wanted to drive. She looked at perplexed and asked why. I said well for the last several weeks anytime you have gone anywhere it been together and I have drove I thought you may want to drive your car.The car was a new one we got her not long before that. She just looked at me and said no when we go places together you drive. I asked why and she said if you haven't noticed we tend to live and stick to traditional gender rolls. She stays home with the kids and runs the house while I work. Ask her and she will tell you our house runs on traditional gender rolls. And won't get mad if a say a woman's place is at home raising the kids, by her husband's side helping when needed with any and every task needing done. A man's place is to protect, provide, and lead his family loving his wife as himself as God instructed. I started dating her when I was 16 and I will be 43 at the end of the month. It's worked very well for us. Shorter version. I work make the money and she gets to do what she wants . Stop by the farm and you will likely find her bare foot in the kitchen, out in the garden, or teaching school with the kids. When she is not home she would be found at the grocery or feed store, making deliveries of farm products, at 4h things or at church/church function. Pm me and I will give you her # and you can ask her yourself how she feels about things. I will bait the hook for her but she can and does do it herself. She doesn't need me to do so she will even take the fish off the hook. Her favorite fishing is catfishing. Sometimes she let's me bait her hook or take the fish off it so I feel important.

Prov. I took that comment as you would not have her not be able to do certain things for herself, as she should. I saw nothing about not "keeping" her. Seems you took it into your hands to teach her how to do some things so she can be independent if needed. Not every woman is from the country and has done "country" things like fish or hunt or trap. They need some teaching, as did I .
Thanks, often I wonder if things come across as intended in text its easy to be misunderstood. Plus my typos are horrible. Each year she just gets more incredible and I know how blessed I am to have her. I think she has given up on my training though. She finally realized it's a lost cause .
