i am surprised he isnt face deep in all that nice grass. i am no cowboy. got a few on here that are. i know they do better with company. might look for another to feed out. sell one to pay for both when fat.

If, I'm understanding what you paid for it, $50 cash plus 100 lbs. of feed plus 5 large round bales. I don't think you got a very good deal. Being a dairy crossed with a hereford at the local auctions around here, he would only bring about a third of the price as a full blooded beef steer.

It doesn't look like a bottle calf. Probably cash equivalent to 250, that's a good deal. How much would beef/holsteins be there? I have a truck and trailer...

Your hay is cheap compared to around here, large round grass bales are $125 to $150 a piece here if you find anyone to sell them. That’s for crap grass, I seen brome rounds bales go for $235 a piece on an auction last month. Most of our bales are 5X6’s maybe his are smaller also.

Most of the hay left here Is a year old and has sat outside for that year. It is not great quality this time of year
