My cabin has cedar siding. Apparently, sapp_suckers love it.
The west wall needed attention as mice were fining there way in through the holes.
Tore off the cedar, replaced it with treated 1/2 plywood and painted it with a gallon of dirt, gallon of wood ash and 2 gallons of water.
Mixed it with a drill and cement mixer in a bucket and used a soft paint brush.
When dried (hour) it's like mortar.
Looks great and natural.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

My house has cedar siding on it. The woodpeckers became a problem. One thing that helped was mounting plastic owls on each side of the house. It looks strange (like we worship owls) but so far no more woodpeckers.

Forgetting the legality, it is harder than you might imagine shooting at them around the house.

You would think they are finding some kind of food or they would move on maybe. Would they do that much work for the heck of it? It might be like a lawn grub issue get rid of the food get rid of the problem then.

Territorial drumming, I believe. Attracting mates, etc.

We have a few local woodpeckers that love banging on the metal tag plates on utility poles. It's quite the racket.

That makes sense critters don’t do many things that take effort for no reason.
