Little bit different video this week. Made one about a cool spider instead of a plant. Wolf spiders are some of the biggest spiders in eastern North America and have a level of care for their young that is incredibly high compared to most spiders.
DirtyD - you should have some species there, though they might not be as common as they are farther south.
HobbieTrapper - nice pic! Looks like a mature male. Those boxing glove like bulbs on the ends of hos pepipalps (the things that look like short legs next to his fangs) mean he is ready to mate. Also it is the ending chapter of its life...
Eagleye - had a big female run in the door when I opened it over the weekend. I gently nudged her back out the door. We have a ton of them, of several species, down here in KY.
I established a warehouse in Louisville as part of a Supply Chain a few years back and had a several Brown Recluse bites during the Pick-Pack & Ship process- they hit the Safety Metrics as OSHA recordables, had to spray monthly.
