Time to fill the old faithful mountain dew cooler up with catfish and have a fish fry or two

Me and the fiance went out Friday night before the rain moved in and did good. Caught 25 or so and kept 20. We throw the bigger ones back in favor of the 2-6 pound range fish. Threw back 3 that we caught in the 20 pound range

The creek we fish is a large creek off a river system. The mouth is so silted in that when the river is low you have to push the boat in. Had to push in this time but the fish were there and hungry

Caught some huge shad for bait too. They seemed to be congregated shallow on a couple offshore humps. I mean dirt shallow

Had fun and restocked the freezer. You northern fellows can keep those nasty walleye!!!

Nice cats but not sure I can be friends with anyone that thinks catfish is better than walleye. I throw the catfish back unless I need to make coon bait.

You need to come to NC and we will show you how to cook those cats! You’ll throw rocks at walleye!

Id eat catfish if I was real hungry, but sure wouldnt take them over walleye, or perch, or blue gills. But if you like em, that looks like a nice mess you caught...good work.

I just like to give a few on here a hard time. I love eating walleye too but I don't see the immense hype behind them. I won't turn them down if one decides to bite my hook though. I have fileted and fried walleye in the Bemidji State University dorm rooms

Nice bunch of fillets.
I like most fish.
Pickerel,what you yankees call walleye are good,but pike are good eating too.
Main thing for good eating fish is that they come out of cold water.
I dont like the texture of fish out of warm summer shallow water.
