Why would anyone pay to get a firearm cleaned?
People do all sorts of things that I don't understand
a common one I see here on the local town info and discussion page is , "who cleans trash bins?" , yes people want their garbage can cleaned , they don't even own. it the garbage hauling company does.
when this first came up as a question the retired custodian from the high school posted how to clean a trash bin
went something like this
after trash day pickup before placing new refuse in the can
put a squirt of dish soap in
add a few gallons water , garden hose works well
take your broom and scrub the sides
tip the can over and allow to drain repeat with fresh water for rinse
they just went on with thier search for someone who would come and clean the bins ignoring him
so several months later a local pressure washing company offers a "deal" now 25 dollars a bin or 2 for 35 or 30 a month if you have them come every month and clean your 2 bins.
so there is a 10 minute task , people are willing to pay 25 dollars to have done honestly the number of jobs in this town or near by that pay 25 an hour or more are slim pickings so they likely work 2 hours to pay to not have to clean trash cans for 10 minutes .
I have met a bunch of people who don't even know how to field strip their gun to clean it , they might even have a cleaning rod and use it but can not take the gun apart to clean the action.
heck my own cousin owned his 1911 for more than a decade without ever field stripping it we were hunting in the rain one day and he was carrying the pistol we were around the table drying off guns and oiling them and he is trying to get everything wiped out on his gun with a rag , I said why don't you field strip it , now he was in the navy while 1911 were issue so he should know this , he is a master electrician and has engine swapped cars before.
he was i think afraid to do it , well too late I had it fields stripped on the table in about 10 seconds and I think he was worried we wouldn't be able to get it together again.
did I mention he was in the navy while 1911 were the issued side arm , either he forgot some how not sure how that could be possible My Marine father in law hasn't touched a gun since 1969 and I think he could still field strip a M14 or Navy your training in small arms is lacking.
