Been babysitting the newly planted gardens. I have 3, 30 by 50 foot plots. Watering every day till it gets going. I am in bottom land next to a lake and plots are still dry. Lucky I have water, a driven sand point produces water at 20 foot down. Local farmers have had corn in the ground for almost 2 weeks with no germination yet. No rain predicted over a week away yet.

you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!

I went to MO a few weeks ago the farther south I went the higher the new crops were coming up. We have had some starter rains but zero runoff this year even the spring thaw got sucked into the ground when it melted.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Corn is up here, but it could use a drink.

I just heard a wildfire was burning on River rd. a bit west of Oscoda Mi. And it's windy.

Just read about that fire. I've been nervous all week about our cabin up there. It is closer to Lewiston but surrounded by 20 year old jack pine aka gasoline. My cousins place is ~4 miles from the active fire. Up wind for now.

I transplanted about 30 pine trees a few weeks ago and been busy hauling water out to them every day. Been dry as a bone around here too. Makes me wish I hadn't planted all them trees.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

We went from flooding to drought real quick. I'm glad I have enough swamps for the cows, for now.

I 75 is shut down by Grayling Michigan due to smoke, big fire just south east of Grayling. Our DNR loves to plant massive stands of Jackpine for the Kirtland Warbler bird. Jackpine burns and rages like gasoline!!

Was in Michigan yesterday. Happy to get away from the crazy traffic and bad roads down around detroit to Flint.

Flint and Detroit are not good examples of Michigan. I have not been that far south in a decade or more. But alas those places like many others control politics for the whole state....
