Again...I read the indictment. You and I both know how grand juries work.....one-sided all the way. And the wording of that indictment has a lot of "he said...she said" garbage in it.
As an attorney, I know you can see that...if you even read it.
He will be acquitted.
I think it is going to be interesting and educational.
The fact that the prosecutor chose Miami as the venue to file this case is puzzling to me.
Dade county went 46% for trump in the 2020 election. That COULD mean that a potential 5 jurors out of 12 could be Trump voters. It would only take one to produce a hung jury.
On the other hand we could conclude that the prosecutor believes he has a slam dunk case that will certainly end with a conviction.
I fully expect Trumps lawyers to question the validity of the search warrant. So discovery could be definitive in this case.
On the third hand......there are at least two of Trumps lawyers who have testified to the grand jury exposing the fact that Trump lied to his own lawyers !! What defendant in his right mind does that ?
I also expect to hear more about the FBI/prosecutors offering Trump's lawyer a judgeship as inducement to flip on Trump. This may be tied to whether or not the search warrant was valid.
The indictment is certainly one-sided by design. But I would be willing to bet that no prosecutor is going to "lie" in an indictment. He could be easily proven wrong and not only lose his case but have bigger problems with the court itself. It won't surprise me either to see some of the charges dropped.
I don't believe we should conclude that the indictment is the product of Trump's enemies.........although the motives behind it may be. Clearly some Trump allies have given testimony under oath that sure doesn't help Trump.
Many of us were appalled, rightly I believe, when Hillary was given a pass on her illegal server. Biden too was shown to have classified documents illegally.
But IMO we should not now embrace Comey's awful statement clearing Hillary, just because it is Trump who could benefit from it. It was wrong when applied to Hillary and we should not now try to use that "wrong" to excuse Trump. If nothing else we should at least be consistent.
I didn't want Hillary as president or Biden either. Now I don't want Trump if he is willing to act just like those others where the law is concerned.
