I’m a sentimental person so I have ended up with a lot of my family’s guns and hopefully I have chosen wisely each individual that will get each of them when I’m gone to make sure they continue the tradition

The short list that I would not part with
Great grandpas Lefever Nitro Special 12 ga sxs
Grandmas 50’s era 870 Wingmaster 20 gauge
Grandpa’s winchester model 97 pump and inter arms 270 (great story behind this one it disappeared after my grandpas death but I was able to get it in my possession 20 years later)
Plus all of my dads guns

ALL of mine. I want to be buried with them. I will need them when I go hunting with the disciples.

I hope to be able to give them all away to deserving family members before I croak. Already started!

My Remington Model 31 twenty gauge. It was my grandfather's gun and the one I grew up learning how to hunt on. I would never part with it for anything.

But then again I don't see me ever selling any guns, really.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

First would be Pop's .22 High Standard Pistol he gave me when I turned 21 (30 years ago), he wore it trapping most of his career, and I have used it every year since. (He told me once he bought it out of a magazine and had it mailed to him!)

Second would be a rifle my Dad sort of built, he blew up the barrel on one rifle but saved the Mauser action then put a 6MM Rem barrel on it with a walnut stock. He used to use it to hunt groundhogs for my whole life, he just gave it to me a few years ago. Its affectionately call "The Six"

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure

I have 20 gauge Model 12 made in 1946, the year I was born.

You're one of them, the enemy, you want our guns, I would never tell you what my favorite gun is.

Remington model 788 in 30/30. Dad bought it for me in 1978 or 1979 as my first deer rifle. Killed a spike buck the first day. It will never leave

My gramps bout this new in 1905 just before he walked from the Buffalo New York area to Minnesota

[Linked Image]

Dads 1911 he carried in WW2 he later had it customized for target shooting, by the serial number it was made in 1918

[Linked Image]

My eldest brother carried this in Vietnam he died in 1988 and his wife asked me if I want it otherwise she wa going to throw it out of course I took it

[Linked Image]

We always called this gramps folly because he bought it thinking it was a shotgun but it’s a 577 nitro express, I don’t think he ever even shot it just put it in the closet and forgot about it, came to my dad after grandma died and dad did much the same thing just put it in the closet

[Linked Image]

Dads service rifle from his time in WW2 when he died it went to my youngest brother surprised he didn’t sell it but when he died it came to me

[Linked Image]

Dad gave this to ma in about 1972 because he was on the road driving a truck serviced her well

Hopefully none will be sold after I die I think my kids respect where they came from and what they represent

Stevens Crack-Shot 22 cal.... my Grandpa bought around 1915 or so the story goes. Killed lots of critters to feed the family and put down a few hogs and steers when butchering time came around. Then it was dad's... then mine and soon to be my sons... then his son hopefully someday !!
