Do any of you folks spring for crab legs on occasion? If so, what are you paying? I've been able to get snow crab clusters for $6.99/# about every other week. Seems cheap here in the middle of the country. What are you seeing? For the record, king crab is stupidly expensive!

Good price. $9.99lb regular price. There is an oversupply and lack of demand. Google it if you want to know more. Did buy some on sale last fall for $3.99 but at the time hade no room to store them. If you can get bigger legs which you probably cannot those are the ones to buy.

Lol.....I helped Red Lobster almost go out of business back in 2003. They had this promotion called 'Crabby Monday' . All you could eat snow crab. They lost massive amounts of money and the CEO was asked to resign.

https://www.thedailymeal.com/119899...-crab-because-of-a-disastrous-trial-run/

I went a bunch until they cancelled the promotion early. I would eat like 6 helpings or more. It was good while it lasted.

If a blue crab grew to their size, they would destroy the crab and lobster market.

I used to get Dungies out of my pots daily, and a sporadic king or three out of other pots (when I lived in Sitka). Therefore, they were about $50.00 a pound if you figured out boat fuel, amortization, and time. Or you could consider them free if you looked at it another way.

grin I love making Dungeness sammiches, from fresh Sourdough, buttered, toasted, a slice of cheese melted in, a touch of horseradish , with a sweet Dill pickle on the side. It's the best.

Don't need to, as we get all the large blue crabs we want. I'm dropping traps on Friday and Saturday we should have anywhere from 5-9 dozen #1's.

Snow crab starts on sale tomorrow for $7.99lb at giant eagle. Normally around $13+ a pound for the small ones and $17 lb. For the larger ones. Giant eagle usually has pretty decent crab legs.
