So my wife started painting moose sheds about 3 years ago in her spare time. She asked me for an idea, so I told her I would want it to be mid December in our area of Alaska, some snow on the tundra, but not a lot; the lakes are frozen, but the snow has been blown off the ice by the wind; northern lights are in the sky, the lake is reflecting northern lights; there are spruce trees in the background; a bull moose that hasn't shed it's antlers yetis silhouetted against the lake. She has painted 4 like this, and did an excellent job, but has become bored with that theme, and is wanting to paint something different. I found a mid 50's shed the other day, it is a free stander due to a drop tine on the back, is perfect for a portrait. Every tine is broken or chipped, he was a fighter... with that in mind, I told her to due a scene of a bull moose fighting something, with 3 options: another bull, a bear, or a wolf pack. The theme with the highest vote on here will be the one she picks. Going to decide next week. Will upload a picture of the antler when the internet out here improves, an iceberg up North cut the cable that goes around Alaska.

There are few things so impressive and powerful, as two huge bulls shoving out trees and bush in fighting. Lots of action. Never two pictures, of the same subject, are alike. That's my instant choice.

All wuffs do are snap at the rear and run and wait...bear do the same. Not much front on action . That's just me.

Can't speak to painting but I've see landscape scenes, drilling rigs dozers and excavators carved into moose horns and can't see why painting would be any different. Wish I knew how to post pics because I've got a caribou, moose and grizzly on one of my carvings and a buck and doe antelope on the other. I had one done for my uncle with his beech 18 taking off on the lake and one done for my boss and friend of a dozer and hoe working in the mountains.

Apologies about the reading comprehension

Bull vs bull.

I vote bull moose verses bull moose too. I would have a cow moose watching in the background.

Wildlife scenes are so objective it's difficult to just limit to one sight, bull on bull stands out most as we don't usually see that in real life.

I'm always a buyer of scenes which incorporate a collage of either action with animals or a nice open array of different animals of that area staged in action or seeming froze in action, birds of prey are fantastic as are most furbearers.

The majestic animals those with antlers usually or those with massive size always look great with scenery that makes them stand out as we usually would come across them, I don't have a specific remedy for your wife's talents but only some suggestions to just drift away with !!
